At Cool Girls Science and Art Club, we are committed to doing our part in helping close the gender gap in tech. Did you know that there are fewer women graduating in Computer Science today than 30 years ago? It takes efforts on many fronts to change the stats. For Cool Girls it is helping young girls grow their passion for STEM through hands-on experiments, innovative learning labs, and field trips.

Through the generous support of the Micro:bit Educational Foundation, Cool Girls was awarded 10 micro:bit micro-computers. These micro:bits allow us to build on the coding the girls did in 2018 with Kari of CodeWagon. We are looking forward to programming the micro:bits. Who knows once the Cool Girls expand their coding knowledge, maybe we’ll have another Boulder County girl enter and win Micro:bit’s Global Challenge coding contest.
