We’re excited to announce that Cool Girls Science and Art Club has been approved to move forward to Round 2 in First Western Trust’s WealthIsAbout Grants Contest.  We have a good chance to win $7,000 to help underserved kids experience inquiry-based, hands-on learning with volunteer mentors after school in our three locations: Boulder, Longmont and Lafayette.

This grant would go a long way in helping us fulfill our mission to engage young girls from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds and abilities in entrepreneurship, Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics (e-STEAM) so they have the desire, confidence and skills to sustain their contributions to the community throughout their personal, academic and professional journeys. No child is turned away for financial reasons.

Now, we need your help!

You can vote for us once each day through November 27, 2017.  To help our girls win, click here and scroll down till you see our planet logo, name and mission–then VOTE! Please remember to vote again tomorrow and tomorrow!  You have 14 chances to make a difference in these girls’ lives.

To get updates on the contest, follow First WesternTrust on Facebook.

Currently, the girls are learning engineering from Ball Aerospace, from CU biochem grad students and by participating in the Boulder Public Library Studio 61 Rube Goldberg Challenge.  Come can see our machine at the Jewish Community Center on Sunday, December 10, from 1-3 pm.
